Aiming 40% Market Share, 4G LTE Ericsson Wants to be King in Indonesia

Jakarta – Ericsson optimistic can be a market leader with over 40% market share providing mobile network device with a 4G technology Long Term Evolution (LTE) in Indonesia.

“We want the most minimal control 40% market share LTE. We’ve won in 2G and 3G, today we also want to win the LTE. We want to be a market leader,” said President of Ericsson Indonesia, Mats Ottersredt, on the sidelines of the inauguration in LTE trials Wisma Ericsson, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/14/2010).

Ottersredt believe the target can be achieved. Because, he says, Ericsson is already a step ahead of its competitors. “We’ve got a contract from Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL Axiata, while other vendors have not,” he said.

Ericsson also believes its market share will still be maintained despite a number of vendors began offering aggressive technology with much cheaper price than his party.

“We do not see the Chinese vendors like Huawei and ZTE as a threat. There are still plenty of room for everything. But still we are at the forefront,” said Ottersredt.

Another reason that makes Ericsson appear confident, not because the technology is widely used by other countries that also implement the 4G LTE. According Ottersredt, Ericsson has built LTE in Sweden, Norway and the United States (U.S.).

“In the U.S., we are working with Sprint Nextel to LTE. We build 20 thousand base stations for them. If in other countries we be number one, so was supposed to in Indonesia. We want to be a market leader,” he said.
